It uses data from various government and industry sources to inform the calculations for CAPEX, efficiency, curtailment, and electrolyzer type and size. Combined with the data you provide, these inputs help calculate an accurate LCOH, making it easier to understand the costs involved in hydrogen production in Turkey.

The calculations performed in this tool are based on standard values and assumptions commonly used in the hydrogen production industry. The following references have been considered in the model:
- CAPEX: The CAPEX values and calculation model were derived from the document titled “Levelised Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) Calculator Manual” (June 2024).
- Energy Consumption: The energy consumption values (kWh/kg) are sourced from operational data provided by manufacturers of Alkaline and PEM electrolysis systems.
- Stack Durability and Degradation: Stack durability (hours) and degradation rates (% per 1000 hours) are estimated based on empirical data and manufacturer specifications.
- Electricity Costs:
- For wholesale electricity, data from official Turkish government sources were used.
- For off-grid PV electricity, Turkey-specific calculations are taken into account.
